Madrid – She wanted to be the most beautiful woman in Mexico. And ended up in jail as a thief of millions.
︎ October 2021: Priscila Lara Guevara (29), ex-contestant in the “Miss Earth Mexico” beauty pageant, and her husband (47) dine in the fine star restaurant in the Spanish luxury hotel “Atrio”. Both checked in under false names and asked to be shown the house’s wine cellar.

The highlight of the tour: a bottle of “Château d’Yquem” from 1806 (price: 350,000 euros!). Later, around 2 a.m., Priscila calls room service and orders a salad. The employee initially refused because he is alone at the reception. Then he allows himself to be persuaded and goes into the kitchen.

At that moment, the husband steals the master key! He sneaks into the wine cellar and pulls out 45 bottles worth 1.6 million euros. The couple checks out around five in the morning – the stolen goods wrapped in towels so that they don’t rattle.
The fugitives in Croatia were only caught nine months later. According to “El Pais”, the thieving beauty queen now has four years in prison, her husband four and a half. There is no trace of the wine.
The accused are on trial in Madrid (Spain).
