The Philatelic Circle of Lisieux (Calvados) participates in the national stamp day Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 March 2023. Meet in the Mosaïc room to discover the exhibitions and activities prepared by the association.

The national theme of this edition is “The stamp rides a bicycle”. Jean-Louis Noe and her team will therefore put the little queen in the spotlight. “A member will display 240 A4 sheets of stamps and postcards on the bike”, announces the president. La Poste will be present to “sell stamps and postcards issued for the holiday”.

Equipment, jerseys, photos…

The Philatelic Circle has invited the Lexovian Vélo-club which will come to “exhibit bicycles, jerseys and photos”, and cycle dealers who “will exhibit equipment”:

“One of them will come with a Bernard Thévenet bike, an old racing bike, and autographed jerseys from great riders. »

A raffle will allow you to win an electric bike.

A competition

At the same time, enthusiasts will be there with their stamps as part of a “competitive exhibition”. Ten collectors in competition will be judged by a member of the French Federation of Philatelic Associations.

They will come with collections on various themes such as telephones and communications, bridges, automobiles, archery, and sometimes “very specific” subjects such as “the 2 Washington cents from 1899 to 1950”. or “the illustrated postcards franked from 1880”.

Philatelic initiation workshops will be organized every weekend for children, as well as a raffle by the federation.
