Leeuwarden, clashes between fans: 3 arrests and throwing of objects. Violated the mayor’s daspo

At least three people were arrested tonight during a demonstration by supporters of the Go Ahead Eagles football club in Leeuwarden. According to Omrop Fryslân, fireworks were set off and some hooligans were looking for a fight: a reporter from Hart van Nederland would have the microphone taken out of his hands, NOS says.

The supporters of the Deventer club gathered near the SC Cambuur stadium in Leeuwarden, despite the fact that there was a daspo against them: the mayor feared clashes between the opposing supporters and had therefore issued an ordinance which prevented fans guests to access the stadium

About 100 supporters attended the protest, NOS says. Two occupants of a car were arrested for carrying a baseball bat. A third ran to a nearby bar and was arrested by officers.

In Cambuur, the municipality of Leeuwarden will not allow for the time being more to the fans to be able to follow the team in other cities.
