The AHC is associated with the oldest regiment in the British Army. The site can host several types of events, including cricket, rugby, archery and football. It is also an active base for the Army Reserve.

German club Dortmund have been pictured carrying out their pre-match preparations ahead of the European clash against Chelsea. The Bundesliga side are said to have booked the venue through the AHC, which is the only way for the public to gain access to the pitches.

Dortmund trained at Stamford Bridge on Monday. But as Chelsea’s ground was unavailable in the hours leading up to Tuesday’s game, Edin Terzic’s side trained on a rather unusual ground.

Chelsea face an uphill battle if they are to defeat Dortmund and qualify for the Champions League quarter-finals. Karim Adeyemi’s goal sees the Premier League side trail the Germans on aggregate ahead of the return leg in England.

Jude Bellingham and his team-mates need only avoid defeat in west London to get rid of Chelsea and inflict further pain on coach Graham Potter under pressure. The Blues will, however, be encouraged by their 1-0 victory over Leeds last Saturday.

Potter remains under pressure to improve results. Chelsea have won just four of their last 18 matches in all competitions and some of the club’s supporters are demanding co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali part ways with the former Brighton manager.

The two big money makers continue to support Potter, but it’s understood that Chelsea need to start to turn the corner. Saturday’s win kept the Londoners in the top half of the Premier League table, although a 10th place finish was far from satisfying after the club’s £550m outlay.

“It’s a great game, an exciting game, a chance to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League. It’s going to be a special night at Stamford Bridge so we’re really looking forward to it,” Potter said before the game.

“We’re all thinking about being positive, winning the game and going all the way. Regarding what we learned from the previous game [against Dortmund] he is a top opponent.

“The team’s results in the Bundesliga show that they are in great shape and that they keep winning games. It means that as a team they do a lot of things well. They attack and defend, they have good individuality, they are well trained. So it’s a big challenge for us, but we’re looking forward to it.
