He clearly stated his goal at the start of the new year: “I have to score more goals,” Jakub Kaminski said. “I had a lot of chances, great chances, but I didn’t score.”

That changed on the second day of the second half of the season when VfL Wolfsburg lost 4-2 to Bayern Munich, but the Pole scored for the first time in the Bundesliga.

“It’s not bad to score against Bayern, the best team in the league,” said the happy midfielder, whose sense of achievement against ex-club Robert Lewandowski also made headlines at home. And in the Kaminski family for double joy: “My father was in the stadium,” says Jakub, “I gave him the jersey.”

15 starting eleven appearances in 23 games are impressive

Kaminski, who came from Polish champions Lech Poznan for ten million euros in the summer, achieved another milestone in his first season in Germany, which is challenging for the 20-year-old. “It’s not that easy to come to a new country, a new league and always play,” he explains, although he has already achieved more than he thought. Of course, the offensive winger, who has scored three goals so far, doesn’t want to rest on his laurels. He has achieved one goal, his first Bundesliga goal, but there should be more Kaminski moments this season. “I want to score more goals and prepare more.” To come to Europe with VfL. “We’re fighting for every point to play sixth or seventh place.”
