FIFA confirmed this Wednesday that Indonesia will not organize the Sub 20 World Cupscheduled for the end of May, and the chances of Argentina grow, who applied to host.

Through a statement, the entity chaired by Gianni Infantino announced that it was decided to “withdraw” Indonesia as the organizing country of the youth tournament due to “current circumstances”, in reference to political conflicts.

The decision that was handled several days ago was made official today after a meeting between Infantino and the head of the Indonesian Football Federation (PSSI), Erik Thohir.

FIFA added that the intention is to maintain the calendar that set the start for May 20 and the end for June 11.

The AFA applied to organize the World Cup, which it hosted in 2001, and that would give it the chance to be one of the participants.
