Indervalle requested security measures against acts of vandalism at the Yuri Alvear coliseum in Jamundí

It is unacceptable that acts of vandalism and insecurity continue to occur in the Yuri Alvear combat arena in Jamundí, was the expression of the Indervalle manager, Dayra Faisury Dorado Gómez, upon learning of the theft of the faucets suffered by the sports arena, where the Gobernación del Valle and Indervalle invested large resources for its construction.

The official asked the authorities of the Jamundí Mayor’s Office to take actions to preserve the security of the stage, which has been violated on several occasions since its construction for the 2021 Junior Pan American Games.

“This is a stage that pays tribute to our double Olympic medalist and three-time world champion Yuri Alvear. In addition, it is currently the place where hundreds of athletes are trained and we cannot allow their security to continue to be violated ”, concluded the maximum leader of the Valle del Cauca sport.

The situation of insecurity that the scenario is presenting puts at risk not only the sports development in the place, but also the physical integrity of the athletes.

“I feel absolute sadness, this coliseum will end up looted. It is the sixth time that they enter, they rob us and they will continue to rob us, because the pertinent security measures are not taken. I don’t know whether to feel anger, sadness or pain, there is no sense of belonging, the good that we have is not valued”, double Olympic medalist Yuri Alvear, coach of the Valle de judo team, stated on her social networks.

In October 2022, the departmental government also spoke out and rejected the acts of vandalism that took place against the combat arena, requesting security measures to protect said scene.
