Members of the National Gendarmerie raided this Monday the facilities of an exclusive private neighborhood in Bariloche, within the framework of an investigation for an alleged crime of smuggling equipment for golf practice.
The procedure, in which Customs personnel participated, was carried out this Monday in the private neighborhood of Arelauquen Golf Camp; Country Club, in the sector reserved for the practice of this sport.
Because it is an alleged federal crime, members of the 34th Squad participated in the procedure together with state employees, who acted with the authorization of the Federal Justice of Bariloche.
“Golf sports equipment and clothing that were not legally registered upon entering the country were detected,” confirmed sources linked to the investigation.
The crime would exceed $10 million, although the bloodhounds had not yet finished counting the items that were seized.
The diligence annoyed the athletes who were on the golf course, who expressed their displeasure to the uniformed officers who participated in the judicial measure.
According to the information that the country club disseminates to promote itself, it maintains that “it is one of the best golf courses in Patagonia. 18 holes between lakes and mountains, designed with comprehensive advice from Vicente “Chino” Fernández (PGA Champions Tour) and built according to the most modern international techniques to ensure the best competitiveness”.
The place offers equipment for rent, as well as clubs and bags and electric carts. Several of these elements are not declared before the AFIP, which gave rise to the intervention of Justice.
