How baseball came to the Bückeburg high school

BUCKEBURG. For two days, all high school students were invited to participate in baseball practice. Movement, attentiveness, team spirit and fair play instead of reading, writing and arithmetic were the focus here.

Divided into years, for two lessons each, the students gathered in the Faust Hall to listen to the American coaches from Jacksonville, to observe them and to play themselves. A mediator translated, so just switching between the American and German languages seemed quite sporty.

All participants were able to enjoy the exciting baseball games organized by the sports department and the Evangelical Free Church community in Bückeburg. “It’s a door opener to the summer camp where all youth can take part in baseball and cheerleading practice,” the organizers said. The costs for this are financed by a participation fee and donations.e
