Hamburg Towers have to do without Woodard for weeks

Bbasketball pro James Woodard has suffered a knee injury and will be absent from the Veolia Towers Hamburg for several weeks. The Bundesliga club announced this on Wednesday. Accordingly, the guard injured himself in training at the end of last week. The club did not provide any information about the exact diagnosis and how long the 29-year-old will be out.

The club wants to react to the failure and is looking for a substitute. “As long as we don’t have a replacement, we all have to move a little closer together. We have to absorb what James gave us,” said coach Benka Barloschky on Wednesday at the press conference for the game against Brose Bamberg (Friday, 7 p.m.). “But I deal with the players I have available. And not mourn for those I don’t have.” Barloschky left open which professional should and can fill the position of the American: “If the opportunity comes, then someone will use it.”
