Former Tottenham manager: Conte missed too much, deserved to be sacked

London

The former Tottenham Hotspur manager regretted Antonio Conte’s actions in criticizing The Lilywhites officials. Therefore, Conte also deserved to be fired.

Conte was furious following Tottenham’s draw at home to Southampton. Had a 3-1 lead, Tottenham had to settle for a score of 3-3.

The players became the target of Conte’s tantrums, who were not satisfied with their performance throughout the 90 minutes. Because losing three points makes their position in the top four threatened.

Conte’s anger did not stop at the players, but also targeted club owner Daniel Levy. Levy and management were deemed unable to build a winning mentality within the club.

This has reportedly made Levy furious and is likely to fire Conte. Even though Conte has clarified his words and apologized, Levy seems overly annoyed. Moreover, the players reportedly also do not like being criticized openly.

Levy is even ready to dismiss Conte before the season ends. The conflict that occurred at Tottenham got the attention of his former manager in the 2013/2014 season, Tim Sherwood.

“I like that (Conte scolded his team). What I don’t like about his words is from Daniel Levy’s side, what Conte said was insulting to the club and the owner,” Sherwood told talkSPORT.

“He’s tarnished the club. If you want to keep a player like Harry Kane which is important then start winning something. But he’s tarnished it.. I think Levy should sack him.”
