Charlotte Hornets Tap Charles Lee as New Head Coach to End Playoff Drought

Charlotte (dpa) – The Charlotte Hornets NBA team has chosen a new head coach. Charles Lee is supposed to end the league’s longest playoff drought and take charge of the Hornets from the coming season. According to US media reports, the 39-year-old will receive a four-year contract. He is currently employed as an assistant coach for the Boston Celtics and is still active with his team in the playoffs. Lee has a good reputation in the league and has always coached successful teams in his ten years as an assistant coach. He is considered an up-and-coming basketball coach with a lot of potential.

The Hornets finished last season in the bottom of the table. The team hasn’t been in the NBA playoffs in eight years. No other team waits longer to take part. Lee succeeds Steve Clifford, who stepped down after two seasons.
