Foreign Minister denies that the military from Cuba and Venezuela infiltrated

Honduras. The Chancellor of the Republic, Enrique Reina, denied that there is infiltration of soldiers from Cuba and Venezuela in Honduras, after information emerged about the existence of advisers from these countries among the Honduran Armed Forces (FFAA).

In addition to denying that information, the diplomat said that there are simply good ties with these countries. «that is completely false. Honduras maintains magnificent relations with all the countries it is friendly with: the United States, Europe, Venezuela, Cuba and Brazil,” he said.

The Honduran foreign minister denied the accusations that there are foreign soldiers infiltrating the country.

A group of former officers were the ones who denounced the alleged infiltration of the Cuban and Venezuelan military into the military institution early yesterday.

Following the complaint, the former head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Isaiah Barahona, implied that these accusations could be affirmative. “If there are intelligence agents from Cuba and Venezuela in the country, then we would be facing a security breach“, he assured in a local medium the same day.
