Honduras. The Chancellor of the Republic, Enrique Reina, denied that there is infiltration of soldiers from Cuba and Venezuela in Honduras, after information emerged about the existence of advisers from these countries among the Honduran Armed Forces (FFAA).
In addition to denying that information, the diplomat said that there are simply good ties with these countries. «that is completely false. Honduras maintains magnificent relations with all the countries it is friendly with: the United States, Europe, Venezuela, Cuba and Brazil,” he said.

It also indicated that the Government urges respect for national sovereignty, as well as for State institutions. «We do not allow any type of interferencewe manage a better relationship and work together with the countries,” he added.
Background
A group of former officers were the ones who denounced the alleged infiltration of the Cuban and Venezuelan military into the military institution early yesterday.
Following the complaint, the former head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Isaiah Barahona, implied that these accusations could be affirmative. “If there are intelligence agents from Cuba and Venezuela in the country, then we would be facing a security breach“, he assured in a local medium the same day.
In this sense, Barahona stated that if this information is true, there should be concern at the national level. He, well, he refers that if so, these “infiltrated” agents would not work for Honduras, but for their countries. “Their information or production would be oriented in the interests of their own country,” he commented.
On the other hand, the former members of the armed forces explained that if there are agents from Cuba and Venezuela in the military entity, there must have been an authorization.
