Jeff Carter scored two goals for the winners, while Sidney Crosby, Jake Guentzel and Ryan Rast scored once each. Joseph Taylor Comphers and Devon Tēvzs stood out in the home team with accurate broadcasts.

The Avalanche are sixth in the Western Conference with 88 points in 70 games, while the Penguins, who snapped a four-game losing streak, are eighth in the Eastern Conference with 80 points in 71 games.
