Ex-strong holder Anderlecht promises that he will return one day: “They didn’t push me to the exit”

Last Sunday, Albert Sambi Lokonga kicked off the Clasico in Lotto Park. A return to his old home. And not the last time, because the midfielder promises that he will one day play for Purple & White again.

Lokonga said so on RTBF. “One day I will return, but I don’t know when that will be yet,” says the Brussels youth product. “Whether I will also end my career there? I don’t know yet.”

In any case, he has seen improvement in recent weeks. “It hurt this season, but I think the new coach has changed a lot of things and that is good for the team. At least from what we can see.”

Lokonga left Anderlecht two years ago. “I wanted to leave and I deserved it given my season. They didn’t push me to the exit. They even wanted me to stay for another year. But Arsenal made an offer I couldn’t refuse.”
