Domenico Tedesco starts his debut match in Sweden with these eleven Red Devils: four defenders, Faes and Lukebakio in the starting line-up

Domenico Tedesco opens his Red Devils career with a European Championship qualifier in and against Sweden. The new national coach does that with a four-man defense in a 4-2-3-1.

The Red Devils start in Sweden with basic places for defender Wout Faes and attacker Dodi Lukebakio. In addition to Lukebakio, all-time top scorer Romelu Lukaku starts in the front. At the back, Thibaut Courtois gets Timothy Castagne at right back, record international Jan Vertonghen forms the central duo with Faes, Arthur Theate starts at left back.

Surprisingly, there is no basic place for top talent Roméo Lavia in midfield. Amadou Onana and captain Kevin De Bruyne form the central tandem, with Leandro Trossard number ten and Yannick Carrasco on the left.

In the Friends Arena near the Swedish capital, the Belgians immediately face a tough assignment. While the previous national coach Roberto Martinez had a friendly match against Spain in 2016 and an easy move to Cyprus to make his debut, his successor with Sweden will immediately be presented with the strongest opponent on paper in this European Championship qualifying group.

Four days later, the move to Germany follows, which as organizer does not have to play qualifications and therefore has to make full use of the exhibition matches to reach European Championship level.
