The 2023 Special Olympics World Games have unveiled their mascot. At the parliamentary evening on Wednesday evening, “Unity” was presented for the largest sporting event in Germany since the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. The name of the heart-shaped mascot is to become the motto for the games for the mentally handicapped, which will be held in Berlin from June 17th to 25th: do sports together and don’t exclude anyone.

“For me, the mascot means everything we stand for: inclusion, love, togetherness. We are a community, no matter where we come from. Unbeatable together, all of that is “Unity”,” said Nyasha Derera, one of the workshop participants and Special Olympics Ambassador from Zimbabwe.

The coloring of the mascot is based on the colors of the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023. Around 7000 athletes come to the German capital for the World Games, which are held at central locations in Berlin.
