Cholet Basket Falls Short in Playoffs as Tidjane Salaün’s French Basketball Adventure Ends

Opposed to Paris Basket in a final meeting of the first round of the Playoffs of the French Championship, Cholet Basket and Tidjane Salaün did not achieve the feat of eliminating the winner of the EuroCup. The French prospect ends his basketball adventure in France with a fairly discreet match (7 points, 7 rebounds, 3/10 shooting), despite a very decent start.

The beautiful story will unfortunately not have a happy ending. Cholet held the Parisians very high in all three games played between the two teams, but the reigning EuroCup champion raised the tone and finished the series seriously in an Adidas Arena which did not not shy away from his pleasure.

For what is his last match in France before flying off for very exciting adventures across the Atlantic, Tidjane Salaün did not have the impact that we were able to see from him in the first two rounds (7 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block at 3/10 shooting including 1/9 at 3-points). However, he started his match with a big winning shot from the Champ de Mars, somewhat symbolic of the start of the Mauges club, which puts Paris in entry difficulty. The problems for Laurent Vila’s group begin with the arrival of the rotations, and Paris takes the opportunity to put a boost in the score.

The difference taken in the score will often be approached by the Choletais, but never equaled. After his good start to the match, Tidjane got lost in some non-winning shots, still offering some nice highlights including an alley oop and a huge counter. The end of the match is frustrating, but that’s the game. Moved by his loved ones at the end of the game, he should not be ashamed of his season, which was exceptional in many respects. The rest only promises to be more exciting!
