David Ravetto takes the lead at St. Francis Links

Summoned in the first part from tee No. 10 at 6:30 a.m. (5:30 a.m. in France), David Ravetto, 25, completed his first lap in 67 (-5). The Frenchman, currently 102nd in the Race, is the sole leader as the afternoon groups have not yet started.

This is the very good surprise of this Thursday morning at Eastern Cape on the St. Francis Links, host of the SDC Championshipco-sanctioned with the Sunshine Tour. Leaving at dawn from tee n°10, David Ravetto managed to sign an excellent card of 67 (-5) on this seaside course, located between Port Elizabeth to the east and Knysna to the west, a place that has sadly entered “the history of French sport” for having hosted the French football team there during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Find the provisional classification

After two birdies on his first leg (at 10 and 13), the Racingman followed up superbly on the return with three other birdies between 2 and 6 before conceding his one and only bogey of the day at 7. managed to slam a final birdie on the 9th, offering himself the lead, still very provisional, of a tournament with 1.5 million dollars in prize money.

Coming from Les Cartes (PQ3) last November in Tarragona (Spain), David Ravetto has so far competed in seven events in the DP World Tour. He cleared five cuts and his best result to date remains a 9th place acquired at Leopard Creek on December 11 at Dunhill Championship won by the South African Ockie Strydom.
