Daddy Yankee and his musical contribution to the 2023 World Classic

The 2023 World Baseball Classic is a very important event and that is why the organizing committee chose Daddy Yankee to interpret the official song, called “Chispa,” which already existed in the Puerto Rican repertoire, but once it was presented to the league “they loved it”, according to himself.

The artist gave a press conference with former baseball player David Ortiz at the LoanDeport Park stadium in Miami and there he revealed that the producers of the song were the brothers Juan “Play” Salinas and Oscar “Skillz” Salinas. He also showed that he was very happy to have been named as a world ambassador for this edition of the championship.

The interpreter revealed that he always dreamed of being a baseball player and despite having dedicated himself to music, both he and his family share a passion for baseball and that is something that is inherited from generation to generation. “I want to show you the beauty of this sport and the passion we feel for it,” said the singer.

Before the game that Puerto Rico would play on Sunday against Venezuela, the Puerto Rican also had the honor of making the symbolic first pitch, arousing a true ovation in the audience present. After that, he told the media that he is very excited to see not only the Latino community present, but also people from other countries, since “the most important thing is to unify the entire mass.”
