A total of 79 delegations participated in the meeting, of which 33 delegations attended the meeting on site, 46 delegations participated online.
According to the practice and requirements of the FISU Federation, three to four months before the opening of the Universiade, the Executive Committee needs to organize a spring meeting of heads of delegation to communicate with the FISU Federation face-to-face about the preparations for the event and inform all delegations about the preparations for the Universiade , Announce policies and procedures, and answer questions from delegations. The Spring Meeting of Heads of Delegation is a milestone event in the preparation of the Universiade and an important communication platform between the host city and the delegation.
The opening meeting of the head of delegation meeting was held in the form of “offline + online”. The leaders of the FISU Federation, the China University Sports Association and the Executive Committee of the Chengdu Universiade delivered speeches at the meeting; the relevant work departments of the Executive Committee were responsible for registration, visa, arrival and departure , transportation, competition and venues, security, finance, catering and other 15 business sector policies and procedures explained; the medical department of the FISU Federation made a report on the medical work of the Summer Universiade.
During the 4-day meeting, the participating delegations will also conduct on-the-spot inspections of 27 competition venues and the Universiade Village to fully understand the supporting facilities and venue conditions of each venue. The question-and-answer session of this meeting also adopted the “offline + online” method, where the delegation asked questions and the relevant work department of the Executive Committee answered them. The three competitions of water polo, basketball and volleyball will also be drawn during the meeting.
After inspecting a number of Universiade venues, FISU Secretary-General Eric Sengchao expressed his opinion on the preparatory work of the Chengdu Universiade venues, such as the operation mode of the Chengdu Universiade, frugal competitions, Universiade benefiting the people, hardware upgrade and update, and functional planning. Fully affirmed, and provided valuable suggestions in terms of green and low carbon, public participation, and post-match utilization.
The 31st Summer Universiade will be held in Chengdu from July 28 to August 8 this year, with 18 sports including basketball, volleyball, track and field, and swimming.
