Bayern sack Nagelsmann, Tuchel enters as substitute

Munich

Bayern Munich have reportedly sacked Julian Nagelsmann. Now Thomas Tuchel is prepared as a substitute.

ESPN and BILD reported, Tuchel will sign a contract in the next few days, which is valid until 2025. The former Chelsea coach was previously linked with Tottenham Hotspur, but until now Antonio Conte has not stepped down from his position.

Nagelsmann is actually contracted until 2026. He also contributed to the Bundesliga title last season. Bayern still has the chance to win the treble at the end of this season.

However, Die Roten’s performance in the domestic arena is arguably not doing well. They have failed to win 10 times, three of which ended in defeat. Their position at the top of the standings is also being taken by Borussia Dortmund after losing 1-2 to Bayer Leverkusen last weekend.

Even though Die Borussen had not been at the top of the Bundesliga standings for more than three and a half years, even if only temporarily. This is believed to be a signal that there is a decrease in performance in the squad.

If Tuchel officially becomes Bayern coach, the first match he will have to face is against Dortmund, the team he coached in 2015-2017, on April 1. The winner of that match will be at the top of the standings, as well as get additional motivation to become a champion at the end of the season.

There has been no official statement from Bayern on this matter.
