Dallas Cowboys replace Ezekiel Elliott with Ronald Jones

Los Dallas Cowboys let go of Ezekiel Elliott in order to clean up the finances of the franchise. Now, they’ve gotten another running back to replace him so he can partner Tony Pollard.

According to multiple reports, The Dallas Cowboys have agreed to sign running back Ronald Jones for the 2023 season of the NFL. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Jones played last year with the Kansas City Chiefs., but he was at the bottom of the depth chart behind Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Isiah Pacheco and Jerick McKinnon. Therefore, he played in six games and only had 92 yards from scrimmage after 18 offensive touches.

His NFL career began in 2018. when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted him in the second round of the Draft that same year. During his tenure with the Florida team he appeared in 55 games, 25 starts, and had 2,745 yards with 19 touchdowns from the line of scrimmage.

In addition to Pollard and Jones, the Cowboys have Malik Davis y Rico Dowdle. Davis was an undrafted rookie in last year’s Draft and had 161 yards with a touchdown after 38 rushes. For his part, Dowdle played 67 percent of the special teams snaps.
