This season, Batņa scored four goals and ten assists in 57 matches for Mikeli “Jukurit”.
The 27-year-old forward has represented the Latvian national team in three world championships, where he scored two goals and an assist in 17 games. He also helped the Latvian national team at the Beijing Olympic Games
One group match will take place in Riga, where Canada, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Slovakia, Latvia, Norway, Kazakhstan and Slovenia will compete, as well as two quarter-final matches.
