Baptiste Delaporte will stay in Castres

Baptiste Delaporte will stay in the Tarn until the end of his contract. The 25-year-old third row had been announced for a time at the start. The possibility had even been publicly raised by former Castres manager Pierre-Henry Broncan, ousted last month. “Baptiste Delaporte wants to change his life or his way of life, Broncan said at a press conference in November. It is his personal will and not that of the club. He told me about it during an individual interview, it’s his choice and that’s how it is. »

The situation has changed dramatically since then. Broncan has indeed been replaced by Jeremy Davidson. An experience abroad was favored by the player, but given the uncertain economic context in several countries, it necessarily complicated his plans… Followed a few weeks ago by Clermont where Christophe Urios greatly appreciates his profile. But the track has closed, as already indicated, and Delaporte will finally continue the adventure in Castres. Under contract until 2024, he will honor the last year of his contract with the club where he was trained. Its situation has been confirmed with its president Pierre-Yves Revol and the staff.

This season, Delaporte has played sixteen games with Castres, including nine as a starter.
