INTERVIEWS – OTHER Keeping Bengal fire out of the stadium completely seems like a utopia. The many PVs do not seem to be a solution either. The Pro League is now working on a regularization of Bengal fire, subject to certain conditions that must be observed. The Interior does not immediately say no.
“This regularization would be accompanied by strict conditions,” says Stijn Van Bever, security and communication expert at the Pro League, “We opted for consultation instead of confronting the ultras again and again. They agree with the conditions and promise to act against wildlife use”.
In France they have already started a pilot project and the Pro League wants to do the same here in Belgium: “Hopefully we can start next season”.
