Livorno, 20 March 2023 – A video has gone viral in which some fans, presumably from Pallacanestro Livorno, seriously offend Thomas Marino, player of Legnano. It happens on the sidelines of the match between Pielle herself and the Lombard team won by the Livorno team 72-58.
Arrived in the arena area with the minibuses, the players of the Knights Legnano they are near the entrance when they are approached by some fans from Livorno.
The latter ask Tommaso Marino for a photo. Three girls stand next to him but at the moment the person he is holding the phone it should start the insults from both the girls and the man filming. The player has great self-control and walks away without saying anything but the abuse continues. The video then stops.
A story that has created quite a few controversies. “It’s okay to tease and target a player during the match – reads one of the many comments are Facebook – but this is exaggerated. Congratulations to the player who had the cool head not to react.”
Tommaso Marino himself published the video on his Facebook profile. “Since it’s viral now, I’m posting it too,” he wrote, receiving hundreds of sympathy comments.
Among the expressions of support for Marino also that of a big name in Italian basketball such as Datom’s Teeth. Marino, originally from Siena, is a veteran of the parquet, with a long career that saw him wear the jerseys of Siena itself but also, among others, of Scafati, Treviglio, Teramo.
