Allegedly Violating Financial Fair Play, Everton Threatens Relegation

Merseyside

Everton are suspected of having committed a Financial Fair Play violation. The team from Merseyside is now threatened with relegation if they receive a point deduction penalty.

The Premier League announced allegations of Financial Fair Play violations committed by Everton. Premier League clubs are allowed a maximum of £105 million in losses over three years.

However, Everton is suspected of having suffered more losses than that after having been jor-rod in the transfer market since being taken over by Farhad Moshiri. Two clubs, namely Burnley and Leeds, reported that Everton had lost more than £307 over three years.

Sanctions are now awaiting The Toffess. Everton are threatened with point deductions, fines and spending restrictions. If this sanction is enforced, Everton will almost certainly be relegated this season. The reason is, Everton is currently struggling at the bottom of the board by being ranked 15th with 26 points.

“In accordance with Premier League Rule W.82.1, the Premier League confirms that it has today referred to an alleged breach of the League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules by Everton Football Club under Premier League Rule W.3.4 The assessment period for the alleged breach is the end of the 2021/2022 Season,” the Premier League said.

The Premier League will form an independent commission to conduct further investigations regarding this case. The sanction for Everton will be determined by the independent commission.

The Everton camp was disappointed by this accusation. They do not violate Financial Fair Play rules and avoid sanctions and will be given an independent commission.

“Everton stands ready to defend its position firmly to commission. The club has, for a number of years, provided information to the Premier League in an open and transparent manner and has knowingly chosen to act in good faith at all times,” Everton explained on the club’s website.
