Although he is not yet a member of the New York Jets, quarterback Aaron Rodgers would require several things from the organization in view of opening up the free agent market.

According to what ESPN learned on Tuesday, the list would include his former Green Bay Packers teammates Randall Cobb, Allen Lazard and Marcedes Lewis. Receiver Odell Beckham Jr. would also make the 39-year-old pivot salivate.

For the moment, Rodgers is still a member of the Packers, he who still has a valid agreement for two seasons. His name, however, has been associated with trade rumors for quite some time now.

On Monday, former ESPN reporter Trey Wingo said the Wisconsin organization and the Jets had agreed to the terms of a trade. The news, however, was denied by NFL Network expert Ian Rapoport.

It looks like the ball is in Rodgers’ court. The quarterback is said to be considering whether he wants to join the Jets or retire. The Packers meanwhile have reportedly decided to make another call and trust Jordan Love to lead their offense in 2023.

Going back to Rodgers’ list, the Big Apple club would have met one of his demands by hiring Lazard. According to ESPN, the 27-year-old athlete is about to sign a contract with the team.

Lazard and Rodgers have played together for the past five campaigns. In 2022, the receiver put his hands on 60 of the 100 balls sent in his direction. He had 788 yards and six touchdowns.
