On the last day of the qualifying round for the “Coppa Piemonte” phase, the PFV Under 15s beat Polisportiva REBA of Turin at home with the resounding score of 111-46 at the end of a match they led from the start in the end, as can be easily guessed also from the progress of the partials of the quarterfinals and from the final score itself.
In truth, the Vercelli team immediately took a good lead already in the 10th minute (30-10) and in the middle of the match they were on 60-17 with the match practically resolved and on average for 120 points!.
In the second half, Anastasio’s girls dropped their pace dramatically (79-31 in the 30th minute) but then they knew how to manage the match very well, even if the result was no longer up for grabs, because it was now effectively acquired. In any case, they fielded an excellent performance in terms of scoring and commitment, since 111 points in a single match are not an everyday thing.
And this despite once again the landlords were not complete, due to the absences of Francese and Torazzo, moreover well integrated by the U14 Fall Awa and Panelli (2009) and by Nicolotti (2008) from the Under 17 group, who gave good contribution to spins and victory.
Now we await the calendar of the second phase, in which the PFV will fight for the Piedmont Cup.

Defeat with honor 37-51, in the postponement of the fourth day of the qualifying round, for the Under 14s by PFV by Basket Venaria, within the friendly walls of the Pertini gym in Vercelli.
Davide Simone’s girls, complete thanks to the inclusion of some under 13 players, found themselves facing a formation with several “longs” of considerable height for the category, and this essentially made the difference under the scoreboards, despite the Vercelli players fought hard throughout the match: but we know that in basketball inches count.
In any case, PFV managed to stay close to the Turin players in the first period (6-14) losing a bit the hook in the second, after reaching -2, slipping away (14-32) in the middle of the match and compromising thus the final result.
In the second half, the pace of play dropped a little on both fronts and took measures against the long opponents, Panelli (21) & C. managed to impact the third period (8-8) and even win the fourth (15- 11), bringing the score to 37-51 in the 40th minute, which – against a team like Basket Venaria – is certainly positive.
Despite the defeat, therefore, also the Under 14s of the PFV are showing signs of growth, which is the goal of the club.
Next meeting on Saturday 11 February at 3.15 pm in Vercelli, Palapiacco, against Biellese Women’s Basket, for yet another youth derby.
UNDER 13 CHAMPIONSHIP –

The PFV Under 13 team was defeated by Basket Nole 18-57, this time on the field, and games played in the qualifying round with one day to go: both teams, in fact, qualify with merit for the final round in which the regional title.
After the last round against Basket Casellamonte on 12.2 pv, Davide Simone’s girls will face the final round with Nole and teams from the other regional groupings, as soon as the calendar has been launched.
The match against the Nolesi leaders was more difficult than the previous ones for the Under 13 PFV, given the greater technical consistency and preparation of the Canavese, but the small Vercelli however fought well remaining for a long time in the slipstream of their opponents (6-9 at 10′ and 11-20 to 20′).
In the third quarter, however, Davide Simone’s girls got stuck, they didn’t even score a point and in the 30th minute they were down 11-37: game over, even if faced with a more “tougher” opponent than those met so far, the Vercelli they still have their say. For now in a low voice, but the hopes that the tone will rise are there and are well founded.
Now we await the final round, in which the difficulties will certainly increase, together with the experience of the very young PFV.
