The beating athletes have won a place in the strongest group based on the points obtained in the last three stages of the World Cup.
99 athletes from 14 nations applied to start the competition – 21 women, 28 men, nine women’s two-seater crews, as well as 16 men’s duets. Latvia will be represented in the team competition by 14 athletes: Kristers Aparjods, Gints Bērziņš, Kaspars Rinks, Elīna Ieva Vītola, Sigita Bēziņa, Kendija Aparjode, Mārtiņš Bots/Roberts Plūme, Eduards Ševits-Mikeļševics/Lūkas Krasts, Anda Upīte/Sania Ozoliņa, as well as Viktorija Ziediņa / Selina Elizabete Zvilna.
After eleven stages of the World Cup (including Sprint Cups) in seventh place with 496 points Elina Ieva Vitola. Immediately behind her compatriot, in the eighth position, with 414 points, is Kendija Aparjode. On the other hand, Sigita Bērziņa took 12th place and 343 points.
Kristers Aparjods is in the fifth position in the men’s competition with 575 points. 10th place and 433 points for Gintas Bērzińs.
In the women’s two-seater crew competition, after 11 stages, Anda Upīte/Sanija Ozoliņa are in fifth place, missing two North American stages, with 577 points.
In the men’s duet competition, Mārtiņš Bots/Roberts Plūme are in third position with 711 points, while Eduard Ševics-Mikeļševics/Lūkas Krastas are in tenth place and 422 points.
On the other hand, after eight stages of the Eberspacher World Cup, Elīna Ieva Vītola ranks fifth in the general standings of the main competition with 390 points. Kendija Aparjode has 301 points and ninth position, and Sigita Bērziņa has 291 points and tenth place.
Krister Aparjod with 465 points is in fourth place, only 20 points behind third-placed German Max Langenhan. On the other hand, Gintas Bērziņas has 332 points and eighth place.
In the women’s two-seater crew competition, Anda Upītei/Sanija Ozoliņa took fifth place and 407 points.
In the men’s two-seater crew competition, Mārtiņš Bot/Robert Plūm got 541 points and third place. On the other hand, Eduards Ševics Mikelševics/Lūkass Krasts is in eighth place with 352 points.
