The sports day Novak Djokovic makes Boris Becker happy
Boris Becker has described his former protégé Novak Djokovic as “part of my family” and praised the record Grand Slam winner as “perhaps the best tennis player of all time”. Even after the sporting separation in 2016, he remained close to Djokovic, the Serb “supported me and my family a lot” during Becker’s imprisonment in 2022.
- In the two-part documentary “Boom! Boom! The World vs. Boris Becker”, the first part of which was presented at the Berlinale, alongside Djokovic, the two tennis legends Björn Borg and John McEnroe have their say.
- But Becker is particularly touched by Djokovic’s participation: “I’m very proud that perhaps the best player of all time is part of a story about Boris Becker,” said the three-time Wimbledon winner at a press conference as part of the Berlinale.
- The documentary, in which, among other things, a tearful Boris Becker reviews the ups and downs of his eventful life, was produced by Apple TV+. Exact broadcast dates have not yet been announced.
