The official launch of the second edition of the Patagonian Integration Games was held, which will take place from May 26 to 28 in the Chubut city of Puerto Madryn.
The event was attended by the governor of Chubut, Mariano Arcioni, the mayor of Puerto Madryn, Gustavo Sastre, the National Sports Secretary, Inés Arrondo, and the president of Chubut Deportes, Gustavo Hernández, representing Tierra del Fuego the Secretary of Sports, Carlos Turdo, among other special guests.
These Games were born last year due to the need to cover a lack of regional competition of several important individual disciplines, which were grouped by the Patagonian Sports Entity within games that provide interesting potential for their growth.
As with the other games, the JIP integrates the six provinces of Patagonia that compete in nine Olympic disciplines, such as taekwondo, artistic gymnastics, archery, tennis, badminton, table tennis, Olympic lifting, wrestling and climbing. , which this year debuts in the competition in both branches.
In addition, the event promotes sports development and disseminates the possibilities offered by adapted sports for people with disabilities, mainly in three individual disciplines that have a Paralympic projection: archery, badminton and table tennis.
In the next few days, different organizational meetings will be held with the active participation of the Executive Committee, the Technical Advisory Committee and the PCD Technical Advisory Committee, in which there is a presence of Tierra del Fuego authorities.
The beach volleyball qualifier is coming
This weekend the men’s and women’s beach volleyball qualifier will take place with a view to the Evita National Beach Games that will take place from March 7 to 12 in Chapadmalal.
The local women’s stage of Río Grande will take place this Friday from 9 am in the sandbox of the Escuela 21 gym, which will also house the local men’s stage of Tolhuin and Ushuaia, and the provincial one for both branches, on Sunday 19 , at the same time.
Prior to the competition, the accreditation of the registered pairs is called (Friday at 9:00 and Sunday at 9:30).
