The Buccaneers lose another banner besides Tom Brady

Tampa Bay’s offense Buccaneers will look very different in the 2023 NFL season after the departure of Tom Brady and now that of the running back Leonard Fournette.

According to the report by Tom Pelissero, of NFL Network, the Bucs plan to release Fournette when the new NFL year begins, March 15th. During the 2022 season, the running back had 1,119 scrimmage yards and six touchdowns on 262 offensive touches.

The Buccaneers’ salary situation is complicated since, according to Spotter, they have the worst with -58,527 million dollars. The team will save $3.5 million if it receives a cutoff designation before June 1 and fewer than five if it is designated after that date.

The running back arrived in Tampa Bay in the 2020 season after spending his first three years in the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars and was key to the Bucs winning the Super Bowl LV. The LSU product was drafted with the fourth overall pick in the 2017 Draft. He has 6,697 career yards and 41 trips to the end zone.
