The third edition of Bad in Plaimpied (BIP, a badminton competition) was a great success last weekend, as a participation record was broken. In fact, 135 players met on Saturday and Sunday in Plaimpied-Givaudins.

Another record broken, that of the number of clubs represented: 38, from 5 different regional leagues, including 13 from the Cher department. The furthest away players came from the Paris region, the Lyon region and even the Hautes-Alpes.

During these two days, 226 matches took place in the local gymnasium. For the well-being of everyone, the PGBaD (Plaimpied-Givaudins Badminton) volunteers have gone out of their way to offer the best possible playing conditions to the players.

During the awards ceremony, the deputy mayor, Françoise Bacquet, congratulated the club for the quality of the organization of this competition and for its dynamic development. She ended her thanks by indicating that those who speak best about PGBaD are its new members. “A family and leisure club, with a good atmosphere, within which competition also has a place”.

The competitors of the organizing club took the opportunity to shine with two titles, in women’s doubles Series 2 and in mixed Series 4, and several runners-up in mixed Series 4 (2nd), and in men’s singles Series 4 (2nd).

In summary, this edition, the third, was once again a great success. The influence of this event is starting to increase given the origin of the players, with a higher level of play and organization. The team of volunteers will have to roll up their sleeves to offer a fourth edition, in 2025, even more successful!
