Record numbers for the self-defense course in Lissone

Self-defense courses: great success among students in Lissone. Participants go from 40 (originally the maximum required limit) to ben 80. Judo Club Lissone and Comune double then the evenings, now Tuesday and Friday. “We have great success– comments the councilor for sport, John Camardato the course strongly desired by the Judo club of Lissone and, for this, I thank the president Natale Casagrande; when sports associations get to work on issues like these, the administration must support and encourage them with all the means available. Aware that there is still a long way to go to combat the phenomenon of violence against women, the administration will always do everything in its power, even starting to work on youth policies from a prevention perspective”. The course is held in the gymnasium Dante school in via Volturno. An initiative that combines sport and attention to a very important social issue.

Satisfaction was also expressed by the mayor of Lissone, Laura Borella, present at the start of the lessons. “Great success of participation in the self-defense course sponsored by the Municipality– declares Borella- I attended the first lesson which was held in the Dante school gym. Thanks to the Judo Club Lissone association for organizing this useful initiative”.

The course introduces the knowledge and practice of self-defense techniques for women, feasible with the appropriate precautions at all ages. It is done to contribute to growth of the culture of respect, the basis of all coexistence, through the development of physical and mental resources, with the aim of containing and neutralizing all forms of violence against women, in every context. The cycle, with a biweekly cadenceis held by qualified teachers and instructors and organized by Judo Club Lisbon and is directed to enrich the awareness of one’s own psychophysical resources, self-esteem, and to improve the relationship with one’s body through listening and controlling the complex body-mind dialogue. The course allows you to acquire effective immobilization/throw techniques that allow you to free yourself from holds and attacks of all kinds, inflicting the minimum damage necessary compatible with the situation to the aggressor.
