JULIAN NAGELSMANN. This is an important first step. I am satisfied with the result. I liked our first 25 minutes and our good start to the second half. Were you surprised by PSG’s timid start?

We were quite dominant, we attacked the goal by being more aggressive. Towards the end, we didn’t have enough of the ball and we couldn’t put enough pressure on them. It created a bit of stress. We left too much space and fortunately Kylian Mbappé’s goal was disallowed for offside. There’s also Messi’s strike blocked by Pavard, but the stats overall are in our favour. We could have scored a second or a third goal. It would have been easier.

Did Kylian Mbappé’s entry into play make a difference in this match?

I’m not used to seeing PSG so low, maybe it’s due to their recent matches, or the absence of Mbappé. After us, there is always a question of knowing what risks we take? When Mbappé entered, there was a change of atmosphere in the stadium, it woke up the other players. We had to put more pressure, defend more also. Twice we didn’t do it very well, but luckily there were offsides.

PSG with Mbappé is always better than without Mbappé. Compared to the second leg, I’m not going to tell you everything, otherwise our opponent will no longer work.
