Persib Bandung Has Released Its Players to the U-20 National Team

Jakarta

Persib Bandung already released the player to Indonesian U-20 National Team. They are Kakang Rudianto, Robi Darwis, and Ferdiansyah who were detained.

That way there are now only six players who have not joined the U-20 National Team Training Center (TC). They are four Persija Jakarta players; Muhammad Ferrari, Nico Alfriyanto, Dony Tri, Cahya Supriadi, and Marselino Ferdinan, and Ronaldo Kwateh.

Persib and Persija hold their players for reasons of necessity for competition. Because the players who were summoned were mainstays in their respective clubs.

The latest news, three Persib players are already in Jakarta. Meanwhile, the U-20 national team will hold a TC on February 1-28 which is intended to prepare for the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup and the 2023 U-20 World Cup.

“Today 3 Persib players joined. Just yesterday there was a discussion between Coach Thomas Doll, Ganesha Putra (Persija Vice President), and Nova (Arianto, Assistant Coach of the National Team). Persija made requirements there,” said PSSI Technical Director Indra Sjafri told journalists, Thursday (9/2/2023).

“He said I got a report just now from Shin Tae-yong’s translator, he said today. The problem is Mr. Teddy (Tjahjono, Director of PT PBB) said it was okay,” he added.

PSSI actually understands what Persija’s objection is. However, PSSI also has an interest in preparing for the U-20 Asian Cup and the U-20 World Cup where the U-20 National Team is required to excel.

“We both understand. But from Doll’s point of view, I said it, Shin Tae-yong (national team coach) said he was right,” said Indra Sjafri.

“But isn’t this the state’s interest. From the others, we agree. That the players are mature at the club,” he said.
