Official: Leeds appoint Javi Gracia as manager

The Spaniard’s mission is simple: save Leeds from relegation.

Leeds United announced on Tuesday the appointment of Javi Gracia as their new manager. The 52-year-old Spaniard has signed a “flexible” contract with residents of Elland Road.

Gracia had previously passed through notably Al Sadd, Valencia, Watford, Rubin Kazan, Malaga or Osasuna. He thus replaces Jesse Marsch, sacked on February 6 following poor results.

Arne Slot (Feyenoord) but also the former Bruges, Alfred Schreuder, had been cited at the head of the Peacocks.

The situation is critical in Leeds, current 19th in the Premier League.
