Borussia Dortmund’s defender Nico Schlotterbeck had previously appeared on ARD.daily News and defender Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen were announced as European Championship players in a social media clip. National coach Julian Nagelsmann wants to publish the provisional squad for the European Championships on Thursday.
According to speculation, Toni Kroos (Real Madrid) and Leverkusen’s Robert Andrich are currently set for the six position. It is unclear whether Leon Goretzka will be there. Nagelsmann surprisingly no longer nominated him in March, but Goretzka was hoping for a comeback.
Infection prevented debut
Nagelsmann had called up Pavlović for the first time in March, but he was unable to play against France and the Netherlands due to an infection. Pavlović could now make his national team debut in the European Championship tests in June against Ukraine or Greece instead.
Pavlović, who also holds Serbian citizenship, could have also competed for Serbia’s national team, but he chose Germany. Nagelsmann recently called him a promising player for the 2026 World Cup.
