Former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores accepted a new challenge in Minnesota on Monday when he was named defensive coordinator for the Vikings.

According to Adam Schefter, of the network ESPNFlores thus gave up two other positions that could have been offered to him: that of head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, and that of defensive coordinator of the Denver Broncos.

After being fired by Miami in January 2022 after three seasons at the helm of the team, Flores was hired by the Pittsburgh Steelers, with whom he served as senior defensive assistant.

Meanwhile, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says the Broncos will interview Sean Desai on Tuesday as they seek to fill the role left vacant by the recent departure of Ejro Evero.

During his time with the Dolphins, Flores compiled a 24-25 record. He notably won four of six meetings against Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots.
