NewTuscia – VITERBO – National day of civilian victims of war and conflicts in the world: “February 1st, a blue light to say “Stop bombing civilians” and remember those who suffer the most devastating effects in armed conflicts”

On 1 February, on the occasion of the National Day of Civilian Victims of War and Conflict in the World, Viterbo, at the invitation of the National Association of Italian Municipalities (ANCI) and the National Association of Civil War Victims (ANVCG), decided to join the celebrations of the Day by illuminating the Palace of the Popes in blue, from 18.00 to 21.00.

“A symbolic gesture to remember the experiences lived by the civilian population during past wars and reflect on the impact of today’s conflicts on civilians all over the world” declared Mayor Frontini.

The Day, established unanimously by the Parliament with the law n. 9 of 25 January 2017, is also an opportunity, for many Municipalities throughout Italy, to also remember their victims.

“A small but significant initiative” – ​​concludes the Mayor – “to remember the victims of past and present conflicts, of which the war in Ukraine unfortunately offers us a dramatic example”.
