In the ESPN commercial, which was shown between several MMA fights, two men kiss each other on the mouth. Marquardt was criticized for the statement, but remarkably enough he did not delete his tweet. He even added a few extra scoops. According to Marquardt, homosexuality is “horrible” and “destructive to society”: “My message was not hateful or unnecessary. I stand up against the evil in the media, where many people are afraid of being ‘cancelled’. It’s like loving that I want to protect my children from the propaganda in this dirty world.”
Marquardt was an MMA fighter in the UFC’s middleweight division. As a middleweight, he captured multiple titles, winning 36 of his 58 fights, 11 of them by knockout.
