LeBron James: NBA record hunt halted by injury

LeBron James, here in the game with the Boston Celtics on January 28, 2023, is currently absent from the Los Angeles Lakers with a foot injury.

Shortly before reaching the historic hit mark in the NBA, basketball superstar LeBron James is injured. Further studies should show whether the exceptional talent was hit harder.

Without the ailing superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the Los Angeles Lakers could not get the weak national team captain Dennis Schröder in the professional basketball league NBA.

The record champions lost 104-121 at the Brookyln Nets on Monday (January 30, 2023) and suffered a setback in the race for the play-offs. James, who is just 117 points short of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time points record, sat out the game with “significant pain” in his ankle, according to coach Darvin Ham. The record hunt must therefore wait for now.

A further investigation should take place on Tuesday morning. At Davis, the break after returning from a foot injury was planned longer.

Schröder only hit two of 15 throws from the field in New York, the point guard had ten points and five assists. The Lakers’ best pitcher was Thomas Bryant (18), while Kyrie Irving scored 26 points for the Nets.

Meanwhile, Orlando Magic, with the brothers Franz and Moritz Wagner, celebrated a surprising 119:109 win at the Philadelphia 76ers despite false starts.

The guests were down 21 points in the first quarter, but fought back and ended their negative streak after three previous defeats. The Sixers, on the other hand, went off the floor as losers for the first time after seven wins.

Moritz Wagner scored 22 points, Franz contributed 19. Orlando’s top scorer was rookie Paolo Banchero (29). With 20 wins and 31 losses, the East Florida team is still well behind the play-off ranks. (sid)
