Anderlecht have finally found their striker. After the failures of Tolu Arokodare (he preferred Genk) and Amine Salama (Angers refused the RSCA offer), Anderlecht turned in extremis to Islam Slimani, a 34-year-old Algerian striker playing in Brest. He signed a contract until the end of the season.
Islam Slimani previously defended the colors of Sporting CP, Leicester City, AS Monaco and Fenerbahçe. Apart from his 134 goals for these clubs, he is also the all-time top scorer with Algeria (42 goals in 89 matches).
