CAMAGÜEY.- The province has 35 candidates for deputies to the National Assembly, and within the group stands out the double Olympic champion Julius Cesar La Cruz.

“Very happy to have been nominated as a candidate for deputy, and I think that the role from our perspective in sports, which is our field, is to support the people as much as possible,” the boxer said via WhatsApp.
Aware of the current situation in the country, and of everything that is demanded of the government entities that come precisely from the Antillean People’s Power, the five-time head of the world certified: “We have to be grateful because the people chose us, and has given us that opportunity, and we have a duty to be their representatives. Although we have that sporting commitment, that is now our mission so that the situation of all Cubans improves. That is the premise of the moment”.
Coming from the most popular strata in the grounds of the Plaza de San Juan de Dios, La Cruz recognized precisely his origins and commitment to himself: “To say and acknowledge that I came out of town, from our humblest class of town, that Today he has given us that opportunity to represent him, and raise his problems at the highest level, all this is an honor for me, it is a new challenge in my life, but I am ready to assume it”, said the athlete, who could be included among the most glorious athletes who will give prestige to the Cuban Parliament, which includes personalities such as Mijaín López, and Omara Durand, multiple winners in the Olympic Games.
Along with La Cruz, are included in the candidacy for the X Legislature, to be elected on March 26, the athletes, Idalys Ortíz Bocourt, judo, for the Artemisa province; Laina Pérez Fagundo, from Sports Shooting, from Matanzas, and Yarisleidis Cirilo Duboy, from Canoeing, from Guantanamo.
