Almost two years after being traded by Miami then cut by Oklahoma City, Meyers Leonard is back in the NBA. ESPN announcement as well as he won a first ten-day contract with the Buckshaving recently been tested by the Lakers.
The “comeback” of the 30-year-old interior is therefore well and truly underway, after he struggled for a long time to get a new chance in the NBA. Both for a shoulder injury, but also for his anti-Semitic outing on the social network Twitch, which had earned him a ban from Miami, a fine and a good behavior internship.
Since then, a convalescent Meyers Leonard took his troubles patiently and waited to be recalled, striving in particular to grow out of this incident by multiplying actions with the Jewish community.
It remains to be seen whether he will now be able to convince the leaders of Milwaukee to sign him until the end of the season, when he is therefore preparing to start this first ten-day contract, or if he will simply be there to compensate for the absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo in the short term.
In career, the former player of the Blazers and the Heat displays in any case 5.6 points and 3.9 rebounds on average (39% at 3-pointers). He has not been seen on a floor since January 2021.
