Kladno – Sparta 3:4, the Knights did not score even on the fourth attempt against the Praguers

Home captain Plekanec got the first chance in the 4th minute, but goalkeeper Kořenář canceled his break. When even Bláha did not make an impact, the guests confirmed their productivity. Klepiš fouled in the offensive zone and ended the first power play after 42 seconds by Kaš, who was found by Erik Thorell with an ideal pass. The Swedish striker then took care of Prague’s second goal after beating Bow with a precise shot to the post.

But Kladno managed to quickly get back into the game. Just 16 seconds later, Cibulskis’ pinpoint shot ended behind Kořenář’s back. And another 32 seconds later, the sold-out stadium exploded for the second time, as Jágr rejoiced at the goal after the break and Plekanac’s pass. However, the referees, after a long check of the video, did not find footage that would prove that the puck crossed the goal line.

The guests entered the second period much more actively. They scored a goal in the 26th minute after a break and an unconventional finish by the holiday scorer Polášek. The Spartan guard beat Bow with a backhand finish with a stick he was holding in one hand. The Kladno coaches then sent Brízgala to the goal instead of the Canadian goalkeeper.

In the 36th minute, the Finnish striker Vauhkonen brought the guests closer to their fifth win in a row on the Kladno ice. But the Knights were able to respond quickly again, Dotchin shot through Kořenář.

At the beginning of the final 20 minutes, Kubík could have made the duel even more dramatic, but Kořenář managed to move in time against his shot in the shortened power play. Kladno could have lost in the other two numerical advantages, but the Praguers confirmed that they are the best in the competition in the weakened game.

In the 55th minute, the Knights got a goal after all, after Plekanec hit the top corner of the goal. But Sparta kept the narrow win even during the home team’s final power play.
