The case was revealed by the newspaper Release in its September 29 issue. At the heart of the scandal, the president of PSG, Nasser al-Khelaïfi and a certain Tayeb Benabderrahmane, a Franco-Algerian businessman. The latter had been arrested and imprisoned for several months because of allegedly compromising documents on Nasser al-Khelaïfi that he allegedly had in his possession, confirming elements of corruption in the awarding of the 2022 World Cup. Mr. Benabderrahmane had carried complaint last summer for his arbitrary and illegal arrest in Qatar. He was only able to leave Doha six months later after a secret transaction with the lawyers of the president of Paris Saint-Germain.
And according to the indiscretions of our colleagues from France Inter, a judicial investigation was indeed opened on January 23 on the “kidnapping” and the presumed “abduction with torture” of Tayeb Benabderrahmane. The investigating judge Serge Tournaire has also appointed to coordinate this file according to the daily The world. He is a magistrate known in particular for having worked on the Bygmalion case, the arbitration case on the Crédit Lyonnais file or the Fillon case. Its main objective will be to establish whether Tayeb Benabderrahmane is a victim who wanted to denounce internally the abuses of the president of PSG, or rather if he is a blackmailer using blackmail to climb the ladder within the PSG club.
