A weekend dedicated to the carnival in the Gorizia area begins, after last Sunday’s parade of floats in Gorizia. Today the festivities start at Savogna d’Isonzo for the traditional pustwhich returns after the long stop due to the pandemic: from tonight, under the big top the music will start at 9 pm with the music of the 3 Prašički (3 Little Pigs), while tomorrow it will be the turn of The Maff at 9 pm. Sunday from 2 pm, instead, space for the 24th parade through the streets of the town which will end at 5.30 pm with Happy day.
Music party it will go on until night. The procession will be opened by the music of the Viktor Parma musical band from Trebiciano, while the groups from Ceroglie (Firemen’s Day), Ferlugi-Piščanci from Trieste (Ma che baloni), Skala cultural center from Gabria (This world is a whole circus), Gorizia style cultural association of Gorizia (All in hell), Marcottini’s carnival group (The merry chimney sweeps), Monfalcone’s Bisiacaria phenomena (The aliens), Opatje Selo’s Opajski pust (Okto Pust).
Also present were the Compagnia di Prepotto (Our first 50…), the cultural association Vesna di Santa Croce (Homo sapiens… are we going forward or backward?) and the Kud Šempeter (Poludovo Resort). By and by, instead, there will be Doberdò del Lago (Arso el karso, riva Grisù, el fogo non xe più), Skd Tabor of Opicina (The winters of the past are no longer), Briški grič of San Floriano del Collio (The revolt of the bees, out of competition), Sabotin di San Mauro (The flight of ideas, out of competition. Pustna skupina Šempolaj di San Pelagio (The band of shooting stars).
Finally, the cultural centers Oton Župančič of Sant’Andrea (Legolandrež) and Sovodnje (The advancing desert, out of competition). Saturday 18 February, however, a Moraro from 2 pm the parade organized by the Judinsi Moraro association – with the municipal administration, volleyball sports association and Civil Protection – will start for the little ones: there will be face painting, a creative corner “Your mask, mini ping pong tournament, shooting with bow, games in music and more. Everything will take place in via Ciso Tuni, at the municipal gym.

On the same day, in Slovenia in the municipality of Nova Gorica, from 17.30 will be the tourist association Kuk Grgarske Ravne-Bata organized, under the big tent of the village of Grgarske Ravne, activities for the little ones on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of Pustovanja. From 7pm music and dancing, continuing until 10pm. Shrove Tuesday, instead, space at the Goriška Pust in the city at Bevk square from 10am to 12pm, while in the afternoon from 4pm the initiatives will continue (in case of bad weather at the Salcano slope).
Always across the border, Saturday will also be the day of the carnival party a Šempeter near Goricain Piazza Ivana Roba at 2 pm. It will begin with the children’s parade in front of the church. The entertainment will continue until 3pm, when the parade of carts and groups will leave from the level crossing of Vrtojbenska cesta, and then continue north, touching the post office and arriving at the fire station. The route will be opened by the Nova Gorica band. The next day instead the fashion show in Romans d’Isonzoalways from 2pm.
